As well as sequencing genomes, we also wish to archive strains as part of this service.
However, in order to send strains you must meet the following criteria:
- You should be sending from the United Kingdom
- The strains should be BSL2 or lower, and not on the DEFRA list of plant pathogens
Currently our strain archive tubes have been validated with the following species:Acinetobacter sp.Aeromonas sp.Alteromonas sp.Bacillus oleroniusBacillus subtilisBrenneria goodwiniiBurkholderia cenocepaciaButtiauxella sp.Campylobacter sp.Citrobacter sp.Corynebacterium diphtheriaeEnsifer sp.Escherichia coliFlavobacterium sp.Geobacillus sp.Gibbsiella quercinecansKlebsiella sp.Lactobacillus fermentumLegionellaListeria monocytogenesMarinobacter sp.Mesorhizobium ciceriMethylobacillusMoraxella sp.Novosphingobium sp.Paenibacillus spParacoccus denitrificansParacoccus panatrophusPseudomonas sp.Psychrobacter sp.Rhizobium sp.Rhodobacter sp.RhodobacteralesSalmonella sp.Sinorhizobium sp.Staphylococcus sp.Stappia sp.Stenotrophomonas maltophiliaStreptococcus sp.Streptomyces venezuelaeXenorhabdus sp.
We currently do not accept anaerobic bacterial isolates or viruses. For these please send DNA.
Other species may be possible, assuming they survive at room temperature and grow aerobically.
For all other cases, you should send extracted DNA free of viable organisms.
